My Help Comes from the LORD

1  I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2  My help comes from the LORD,
who made heaven and earth.
3  He will not let your foot be moved;
he who keeps you will not slumber.
4  Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
5  The LORD is your keeper;
the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6  The sun shall not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7  The LORD will keep you from all evil;
he will keep your life.
8  The LORD will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and forevermore.

The good God of the Bible is an ever present help in the time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). He never leaves us and sees every need before we even have it. Paul reminds us that it is in God that we “live move and have our very being.” (Acts 17:28). Jesus told us that we can go to Him for our daily bread (Matthew 6:11). He gives His best blessings to us when we deserve it the least (Romans 5:8).

It is a comfort to know that the Father is protecting us at all times. He will keep us fro all evil (Psalm 121:7). Our hope is truly in the Lord (Psalm 39:7). The Hebrews writer reminds us that our hope is an anchor for the soul (Hebrews 6:19-20).

There is an old gospel song that encourages us to turn to the Lord for all our needs.

“Where could I go, oh where could I go?
Seeking a refuge for my soul
Needing a friend, to help me in the end
Where could I go, but to the Lord?”
James B Coats

I encourage you to turn to Him today. He loves you and wants you to live with Him for eternity. If you are uncertain about your soul please contact me and let’s talk about what the Bible says.
