“Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised” (Proverbs 31:30).
Men, are we looking at or for the wrong things when we view a woman? Are we encouraging women to be objects instead of souls? Our hearts need to be set on helping each other go to heaven not sexual attraction.
We live in a world where young girls are encouraged more and more to become “attractive.” Mostly this means dressing and acting in a loose, overly sexual way. That is sinful in so many ways. Notice these principles on how we are to treat each other in the world God made…
Galatians 5:13 (ESV) For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:22 (ESV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
We are to love each with a true not fake caring (1 Pet 1:22). How can we say we truly love and care for a woman when all we are thinking about is her body parts? Men must develop a keen eye for the hearts and souls of the women with whom they come into contact. How they are dressed is not an excuse for lingering lustful thoughts.
Ladies on the other hand need to love the Lord and the men of the world with a love that would never want to elicit impurity in their heart or mind.
1 Peter 1:22–23 (ESV) Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart, 23 since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God;
Our main purpose in this world is to get to heaven and to take as many as possible with us. Loving each other means looking out for the purity of our own soul and that of others.
1 Peter 3:8–9 (ESV) Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. 9 Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.
