Psalm 127:1â3 (ESV)
Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
Oh how I long for men and women to see the value of letting God rule the home. Many of the heartaches would soon end with God at the center of any home. For years now we seem to have done all we can to put our own desires on the throne of our hearts. Husbands forget their role of caring for their wives as Christ does the church. Wives put self over the needs of husbands. Parents seem to see children as a burden and not the heritage God intended.
Can you imagine how beautiful the home would be when each part of it is treating the other parts as God has treated us? The love we need is kindly demonstrated for us as we receive it from the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Sacrifice and selflessness are key to truly letting the Lord build the house.
Let me encourage you to look to the Scriptures to find how God loves you and emulate that love for those in your family.
